Presentation

Originally from Berry, but attached to the city of Versailles where her father was a magistrate, Jenny de Vasson (1872-1920) developed a personal practice of photography that led her to represent the city and the castle on numerous occasions.
As one of the pioneering women of photography, Jenny de Vasson is a witness to her time and her environment while unintentionally creating "works" that are now sought after by the world's greatest museums.

Created in 1980, "The Month of the photo" saw in 2017 its formula and its dates evolve. The exhibitions are now extended to "Grand Paris" throughout the month of April. The city of Versailles is part of this expanded program and highlights, from April to June, photography from different angles, related to the history of the city, its funds, acquisitions and orders.
