The Toile de Jouy Museum presents its new temporary exhibition Kintsugi - Toile de Jouy, gold in clothes

After A wedding in Osaka in 2018, Jouy in the rain in 2019, Furoshiki - fashion goes wild in 2020, the Musée de la Toile de Jouy presents its new temporary exhibition Kintsugi - Toile de Jouy, gold in clothes in partnership with the Ueda Fashion of college in Osaka (Japan).

The students explore heritage by adapting the Japanese technique of Kintsugi, usually practiced on broken ceramic objects, to textiles. Using a contemporary Toile de Jouy created especially for the exhibition, they connect the pieces together using a special resin and gold dust, giving the seams a golden appearance.

Some twenty silhouettes are displayed in the various areas of the museum, particularly in the historical rooms of the 18th and 19th centuries, where art and creation are intimately linked.
