European Heritage Days 2024 at Versailles Grand Parc

The 41st edition of the European Heritage Days will take place on September 21 and 22. During this weekend, you will be able to explore a variety of iconic sites and participate in numerous activities in Versailles Grand Parc. Below is the detailed program of events!

Bougival

  • Machine de Marly – Water Route
    • Address: 12 Quai Rennequin Sualem, 78380 Bougival
    • Date: Saturday, September 21, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

Discover the history of the Machine de Marly, built in 1681 to transport water from the Seine to the Château de Versailles, through a free educational exhibition or a guided tour (9:45 AM or 11:00 AM).

  • Bouzemont Foundation – Exhibition "Impressionism in France and Europe"
    • Address: 10 Rue du Général Leclerc, 78380 Bougival
    • Dates: Saturday, September 21, and Sunday, September 22, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Created by the European network Impressionism Routes, a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe, this exhibition, composed of reproductions of works and didactic panels, showcases the importance of the Impressionist movement across 19th-century Europe and its ongoing influence. Free entry.

  • Bougival Vineyards and the Keyhole Garden

  • Villa Viardot

Explore the last residence of Léon Blum, the permanent exhibition highlighting the key moments of his life, and the landscaped park. A creative workshop "Draw me an ephemeral logo" will be held on Sunday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, along with a harp and lyrical singing concert on Saturday from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Visit the church built between 1684 and 1686 by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, which has been a Historical Monument since 2005. It holds the registers of baptisms, marriages, and deaths of royal family members.

The gallery of honor was the setting for the preparation of the Treaties of Paris and Versailles (1783), marking peace and the independence of the colonies.
