The Affair of the Queen's Necklace

In 1785, an incredible story shook the Palace of Versailles and its Court. Thinking he was doing a great service for Marie Antoinette, Cardinal de Rohan was the victim of swindlers who manipulated him to get their hands on a diamond necklace of immense value.

Your mission

Assist Cardinal de Rohan by finding the necklace before the crooks disappear. You will be guided by a chatbot.

A chatbot?

It’s a form of artificial intelligence that accompanies you throughout the mission. You can rely on it to give you the details of each stage of the investigation and assist you if needed.
It communicates with you, your choice:
  • either via the Messenger app installed on your Smartphone
  • or via our dedicated web page
...

How to book?

  1. Select the number of participants (excluding children under 12 years old)
Certain game mechanics will only activate from a certain number of players, so it is essential to select the actual number of players. Additionally, the number of smartphones that can connect to the game is strictly limited to the number of players indicated when ordering.
The treasure hunt takes on another dimension when played with several connected players.

  2. You will receive a purchase confirmation by email
The email can take up to approximately 15 minutes to send, check your spam folder.

  3. You will receive a second email with the access code to the treasure hunt and the chatbot, along with all necessary instructions
The email is sent a few minutes after receiving the first email, check your spam folder.

  4. Start playing whenever you wish
You can book your treasure hunt to play in several days, or at the last minute.

F.A.Q

  • How does a game work?
The game begins when you start the conversation with the chatbot corresponding to your mission on the Messenger app. After giving it your access code, it will provide you with the details of your mission.
You can then set off on an adventure and explore the streets in search of clues. Observe your surroundings, solve puzzles, and interact with your digital companion (as well as your teammates) to complete your quest.

  • Who can participate?
Everyone can play! This scenario is designed to be played from around 12 years old, but children of any age can participate in searching for clues with their parents (if the parents have understood the puzzle and explain what needs to be found to the children).
You can then set off on an adventure and explore the streets of Versailles in search of clues. Observe your surroundings, solve puzzles, and interact with your digital companion (as well as your teammates) to complete your quest.

  • Is it essential for everyone to have their own phone?
It’s not essential, you need at least one to play. However, team mechanics activate from 3 smartphones, which encourage communication between you.
We also recommend that groups of more than 3 players have at least 2/3 phones for a more comfortable gaming experience.

  • When can I play my game? Can I book at the last minute?
It’s whenever you want! Once you have ordered your game, you will receive a confirmation email containing your access code to the game. You can then start the game (see How to start a game?) on the day you want. You don’t need to book a date, and you can decide at the last minute depending on the weather.

  • What equipment is needed?
    • A charged smartphone with internet access (1/team required – 1/player recommended)
    • A notebook and pencil (1/team)
    • A pair of headphones (optional, it can help to listen to audio elements in the city)
    • A water bottle and good walking shoes

  • I haven’t received my confirmation email?
Confirmation emails sometimes take up to 15 minutes to send. Also, check your spam folder. After checking, if you still haven’t received it, don’t hesitate to contact us.
