Presentation

Places of intimacy, the private apartments of the king at the Palace of Versailles were designed at the request of Louis XV and were also used by Louis XVI. The best decorators of the 18th century worked there, and the most sumptuous pieces of furniture can be found there, such as Louis XV's famous cylinder desk or the spectacular Passement clock: it was in this exceptionally refined setting that Louis XV and Louis XVI liked to retire, work and indulge in learned leisure
