Petite Écurie

  • La Galerie des Sculptures

Presentation

The Petite Écurie, located in Versailles on the Place d'Armes, opposite the Château, between the avenues of Paris and Sceaux, was built by the architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart and completed in 1682.
Today, it houses the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Versailles and the workshops of the Centre de recherche et de restauration des musées de France. It also houses a major collection of sculptures from the Château de Versailles and the Louvre Museum. Built to house the Court's horses and carriages, the Petite Écurie has large galleries that were once used as stables.
