The French Revolution began in the city of Versailles – Follow the key stages of the events of 1789, from the meeting of the Estates General called by Louis XVI to its transformation into a National Assembly, along with the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the great Assembly debates. This route gives particular importance to the Tennis Courts built by Louis XIV: the famous speech that marked the start of the French Revolution was made in this sports hall, where princes and courtiers came to exercise.
