1735: Is the Neapolitan Porpora, who has been in London for two years to break Handel's monopoly on Italian opera, about to succeed?
Bringing together the heroic characters of Ulysses, Polyphemus, Calypso, Acis and Galatea, Porpora's opera was a resounding success. Here it is brought to the stage with the virtuoso performances of Franco Fagioli as Primo Uomo, Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian as Secondo Uomo and Julia Lezneva as Prima Donna: lovers of brilliance against the backdrop of roaring Etna, the Cyclops Polifemo awaits you in his deep cave!
