The artist rented this house every summer from 1881 to 1884.
She had settled, with her husband Eugène Manet and her daughter Julie, at 4 rue de la Princesse (today 1 avenue de la Drionne) in this house, which was rented out every summer between 1881 and 1884. She painted there: the Fable (1883), Eugène Manet and his daughter in the garden (1883), in the Veranda (1884), Garden in Bougival (1884), Hollyhocks...
This house of happiness will open in October as a space dedicated to the artist, an Impressionist painter but also a mother, wife and friend.
