Quality Approach & Destination of Excellence

At the Versailles Grand Parc Tourist and Convention Bureau, quality lies at the heart of our mission. For more than ten years, we have been committed to a continuous improvement approach with one objective: to provide visitors, residents, partners and tourism professionals across the area with a positive, consistent and professional experience.

This approach applies to all our activities and involves every member of our team. Visitor welcome, tourist information, communications, sales, our shop, relations with local professionals and the organisation of stays: we continuously review and improve our practices and services to meet the expectations of our different audiences as effectively as possible.

Today, we are continuing this commitment through the Destination d’Excellence initiative, which strengthens requirements in terms of quality of welcome and services, accessibility and environmental responsibility.

Our Quality Commitments

Providing you with a warm, personalised and accessible welcome

Every visitor is different, which is why we pay particular attention to listening to and understanding your needs.

Our teams welcome you with courtesy and professionalism and assist you in preparing for and making the most of your stay. Our visitor advisers receive regular training on the tourism offer available throughout the area and provide personalised recommendations based on your interests, profile and the time you have available.

We also strive to improve the accessibility of our facilities, information and services to make the destination easier to discover for everyone, particularly people with disabilities.

Providing reliable and up-to-date information

Ensuring that you have access to clear, reliable and relevant information is one of our essential missions.

The tourist information we provide is regularly checked and updated. It is available at our Tourist Information Centres, on our website, through our digital tools and across our various communication materials.

Our teams use professional tools and shared procedures to provide information about the full range of experiences and services available across Versailles Grand Parc: heritage sites, events, activities, accommodation, restaurants, shops, transport and practical services.

We also ensure that our information is adapted to our different visitors, particularly by providing content in several languages.

Offering services tailored to your needs

There is more than one way to discover Versailles Grand Parc. We develop a range of services enabling everyone to prepare and personalise their stay.

Ticketing, guided tours, activities, bicycle hire, our shop, personalised advice and the organisation of group stays: our teams are here to assist you before and during your visit.

We regularly adapt and develop our services to take account of changing habits, visitor expectations and developments in the tourism offer available across the area.

Listening to you so that we can keep improving

Quality is first and foremost based on a process of continuous improvement.

Satisfaction surveys, online reviews, comments, suggestions and complaints: visitor feedback is regularly collected and analysed. It helps us identify our strengths as well as the services and practices that can still be improved.

These insights contribute to our Quality approach and action plans. They are shared with our teams so that we can collectively improve our practices and ensure a consistent level of service.

Our partners and tourism professionals also contribute to this process through their regular exchanges with the Tourist Office and their knowledge of the destination.

Supporting more responsible tourism

The quality of a visitor experience also depends on preserving the destination in which it takes place.

We are gradually incorporating sustainable development principles into our operations and services, including managing our consumption of resources, reducing and sorting waste, adopting more responsible digital practices, promoting sustainable mobility and raising awareness among our teams.

We are also committed to showcasing local businesses, expertise, products and responsible initiatives throughout Versailles Grand Parc in order to encourage a more sustainable way of discovering the destination.

Destination d’Excellence: taking our approach further

Since 2024, the Versailles Grand Parc Tourist and Convention Office has been working towards the Destination d’Excellence label.

Created by the French government, this label succeeds the Qualité Tourisme™ certification and continues its ambition of providing a high standard of welcome and services, while strengthening requirements relating to environmental responsibility and information on the accessibility of tourism services for people with disabilities.

For our Tourist Office, this initiative is the natural continuation of the work undertaken over many years. It encourages us to review all aspects of our practices: quality of welcome, reliability of information, visitor feedback, accessibility, staff development, management of resources, reduction of our environmental impact and promotion of responsible initiatives across the destination.

Destination d’Excellence therefore provides a framework for continuing to improve collectively and embedding quality sustainably throughout all the Tourist Office’s activities.

More than ten years committed to quality

Our commitment to quality has been built over time.

The Tourist Office was first awarded the Qualité Tourisme™ certification in 2015, before having it renewed in 2021. This national quality scheme helped us establish a long-term organisational approach focused on quality of welcome, visitor satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Since 2024, the introduction of the Destination d’Excellence label has marked a new stage in this journey. It is gradually replacing Qualité Tourisme™ and introduces strengthened requirements, particularly in terms of environmental responsibility and accessibility.

Our commitment to Destination d’Excellence therefore builds on more than ten years of experience and a culture of quality that is now fully integrated into the Tourist Office’s day-to-day operations.

A Category I Tourist Office

The Versailles Grand Parc Tourist and Convention Office also holds Category I status, the highest level in France’s national classification system for Tourist Offices.

This classification recognises Tourist Offices with the organisation and resources required to provide visitors with a high level of service, implement a promotional strategy for their destination in France and internationally, and bring together tourism stakeholders across their area.

For Versailles Grand Parc, this classification complements our Quality approach and reflects our commitment to providing an organisation and services worthy of a major tourism destination.

A collective approach

Quality is never something that can be taken for granted: it is built and developed every day.

Every member of the Tourist Office contributes, through their role, to the quality of the experience we provide. Staff training, shared procedures, performance monitoring, feedback from our audiences, analysis of results and action plans all help keep this approach active over time.

Through Destination d’Excellence, we aim to continue this momentum alongside all the stakeholders of Versailles Grand Parc and contribute to making our destination ever more welcoming, accessible, responsible and attentive to its visitors.
