Exhibition designed and loaned by the National Museum of Immigration History.
Borders. Observing the margins to question the world examines the ambiguous and evolving concept of borders. It addresses, on a global scale, the different uses of borders, as a source of profit, exploitation, a means of subsistence, a demarcation, but also as a place of life. It also addresses the issue of crossing borders, bringing often invisible human realities back to the forefront of the discussion.
Drawing on historical, geographical, economic and human realities, the travelling exhibition Frontiers combines photographs, archival documents, works of art, newspaper front pages and memorabilia from its collections, as well as a dozen previously unseen cartographic representations.
