On European Heritage Day, the Berthe Morisot House will be open for self-guided tours.
Berthe Morisot settled there with her husband Eugène Manet and her daughter Julie, at 4 Rue de la Princesse (now 11 Avenue de la Drionne), in this house which they rented every summer between 1881 and 1884. In 1882, she stayed there for much of the year. The house had a magnificent flower garden. This ‘house of happiness’ became a space dedicated to the artist – an Impressionist painter, but also a mother, wife and friend.
The museum exhibition is organised into seven sections with educational titles.
