Renamed Espace Richaud in 2015, it only opens its doors for major temporary exhibitions. Each visit is therefore a rare opportunity to step inside this unique venue, where heritage and art come together in a rich and surprising programme.

Leonardo Cremonini. The Mirrored Gaze

From 27 May, Espace Richaud is hosting a major retrospective of the Italian painter Leonardo Cremonini to mark the centenary of his birth. Bringing together nearly 130 works, this exceptional exhibition traces more than sixty years of his creative output, from his early compositions with sculptural forms to his famous seaside scenes and intimate interiors in vibrant colours. Through a selection of major works – some of which are being shown in France for the first time in over thirty years – the exhibition highlights the artist’s stylistic and thematic evolution. Through the interplay of light, geometric architecture and atmospheres steeped in mystery, Cremonini’s paintings subtly explore human relationships, the passage of time and the emotions of everyday life.
