Presentation
The Valentin Haüy association organizes a triathlon in pairs composed of a visually impaired person and a sighted person.
On Saturday 15 June 2019, each duo will take part in three events - running, tandem and canoeing - which will take place in the heart of the Château de Versailles.
The Valentin Haüy association facilitates access to sport for people with visual impairments through its committees located throughout the country and its sports department located at the Paris headquarters. On June 15, some fifty pairs will start the sixth edition of his triathlon, under the sponsorship of Brice Marmonnier.
Launched in 2010 by the Valentin Haüy association and its Yvelines committee, this triathlon has become an emblematic competition that brings together athletes from all over France every two years. The event creates a symbiosis between visually impaired and visually impaired participants, while raising public awareness of disability.
Composed of a visually impaired person and a sighted person, each pair participates in the three events taking place in the Domaine du Château de Versailles. The Swiss water body, with a total area of 14 hectares, is hosting this competition.
In this natural and cultural environment, participants compete through 3. 6 kilometres of running, 10 kilometres in tandem and 1. 5 kilometres in canoe-kayak. All three disciplines are accessible to all athletes, blind
